Baby Dedication Request
Forms are required for all
baby dedications. These
forms can be obtained from
The Sanctuary Administrative
Office. Once they are
completed, they must be
returned to the
Administrative Office no
later than 14 days prior to
the requested baby
dedication date. Forms can
be mailed to the church,
faxed to 301-336-8871, or
hand delivered to the
Administrative Office.
Baby Dedications are held
on one pre-set Sunday in
each month during the 11:00
a.m. morning worship
service. The dedication
ceremony is conducted by the
Pastor or an ordained
minister assigned by the
Pastor. During the
dedication, the baby is
offered back to God in love
and thanksgiving. Prayer is
offered for guidance in the
stewardship role of
parenting. Parents,
godparents, family and
friends are welcome to
participate in the
ceremony. All are asked to
make a commitment to
effective parenting, to
raise the child in the
knowledge of Christ and to
encourage the child to
receive Christian training
and guidance.
At the
appropriate time during the
worship service, the Pastor
or the assigned worship
leader will call all
families scheduled to have
their children dedicated to
the front of the church. In
the case of an unforeseen
situation, which causes you
to miss your requested
Sunday, contact the
Administrative Office at
301-333-9033 for
rescheduling.

Baptism is held on the first Wednesday night of each month at
6:30 p.m. All candidates should arrive
at The Sanctuary no later than 5:45 p.m. Upon arrival,
report to the fellowship table where a Deacon or Deaconess
will be there to serve you. Please bring a dry change
of undergarments. All other Baptismal attire is provided.
A Deacon or
Deaconess will call you
before the first Sunday to
address any concerns that
you may have. If you have
not been contacted by the
Wednesday leading up to the
first Sunday, please call
Deaconess Andriette Long at
301-333-9033

The
Watchcare Ministry is a
scripturally based ministry,
found in Acts 6:1-4. It was
developed as a result of the
murmuring of the Grecians
against the Hebrews. The
Grecians felt that their
people were being neglected
in the daily ministry of the
church.
The purpose of
the Watchcare Ministry is to
ensure that all members,
both new and established,
will not be overlooked or
neglected. This ministry is
also designed to aid the
Pastor in keeping a watchful
eye over the congregation,
thus allowing him to give
himself continually to
prayer, and to the ministry
of the Word.
The business of
the Watchcare Ministry has
been appointed to the
Minister of Membership
Retention and the Deacon and
Deaconess Ministries of the
Church by our Pastor.
These persons
are responsible for keeping
in contact with all members
of the congregation. Each
Deacon and Deaconess is
assigned specific alphabets
of members’ last names with
whom they are responsible to
keep in contact. By doing
this, they will be able to
assist the Pastor by
informing him of the status
of our membership.
The duties of
the Watchcare Ministry
Coordinators are to work
closely with the Minister of
Membership Retention and the
Deacon and Deaconess
Ministries to ensure that
every member is contacted;
to develop the best possible
way to carry out the duties
of Watchcare; and to meet
with Pastor and prepare a
monthly Watchcare report.
Sanctuary members who need to notify the church of births,
impending surgeries, illnesses, hospitalizations and deaths
of Sanctuary members or close relatives of members should
call the church office at
301-333-9033 ext. 1451.
Your information will be forwarded to Pastor Maclin and
appropriate church leaders.
